# Mojgan Hoseyni, Qanun player
Mojgan Hoseyni was born on January 16, 1992, in Tehran. Her mother encouraged her to start her musical journey from the age of seven with ‘Tombak.’ In 2004, she entered music school and started to learn ‘Qanun’ under the supervision of ‘Maliheh Saeidi.’ She continued Tonbak at the music school under the guidance of Mohammad Esmaeili, and then she learned Piano, Daf, and Trumpet.
In 2010, she entered the Tehran University of Art and majored in ‘Iranian music performance.’ She continued Qanun under the supervision of ‘Parichehr Khajeh.’ Under the guidance of ‘Sepanta Hamedi Nezhad,’ she was ranked ten on the national entrance exam, and she was accepted into the master’s course in 2017. She finished her master’s under the supervision of Hossein Alizadeh with a thesis titled ‘Transcription of Hossein Alizadeh musical pieces for Qanun.’
She has worked with ‘Iran’s National Orchestra’ as a Qanun soloist since 2016, and she has cooperated with famous musicians, including Fereydoun Shahbazian, Shahrdad Rohani, Sohrab Kashef, Bardia Kiaras, Ali Akbar Ghorbani, and Agha Verdi Pashayef. In 2021, she founded a single-purpose cultural-musical company (Roud-e Ravi-e Honar) to produce and publish musical and video records.
